We have 6 of these panels and they are lovely. The pinkish rouge colour is original. They were purchased in France and I feel would look great along a wall just at picture rail height. There are a couple of mouldings missing but I feel this is not detrimental - it just adds to the character. At present they are a matt finish but we could wax them in clear wax
